Step 1: BUY YOUR TICKETS XD

Ello and welcome to another exciting post by me, GD. Ok so basically I will not go on and on about how happy I am be doing my SECOND post XD. So onto step 1.

First off, you can't go to AX (Anime Expo for all of those too lazy to read my first post, which to I say READ IT, there's important stuff in there) without a ticket. Now a ticket to AX is pretty much your pass to almost everything at AX. There's some events like concerts and such that you do need to buy a ticket for, but don't worry, it's like $20 to go to a concert. So there's a couple of different tickets you could buy:
1. All four days (June 29- July 2)
2. Two Consecutive days ( Either June 29-June 30, June 30-July 1, or July 1- July 2, this is Friday-Saturday, Saturday-Sunday, or Sunday-Monday)
3. Artist Alley (You don't need this unless you will be selling at the con, more information on Artist Alley in later posts. Plus, this is sold out already. Trust me... I checked).
4. Premiere Pass (I believe that's what it's called. Also sold out).
5. Single day (This won't be available till June).

There's a couple of others, but AX's website is being mean and hasn't posted up the prices yet. I am going from mainly memory and from just buying my friend's tickets.

So, after so many months, the prices do go up, usually about $5. Right now, all four days are $60 till March 31st (recommend to do this to get the most out of your AX experience), and two days are $50(better than one day in my opinion, especially if it's your first time going to the con).

The reason I didn't put up the other prices are because either I didn't remember or those tickets are sold out already.

Oh yea, almost forgot. If you have kids going with that are 12 and under, yet over 5, they have a four day ticket for them too. The ticket is currently $25 for them. Children 5 and younger are free. Before you go crazy like "OMGuacamole I could bring my cousins or siblings and let them run around crazy like the little energizer bunnies they are!" There are rules. In order for anyone younger than 18, and this is new by the way, an adult MUST BE PRESENT IN ORDER FOR THE CHILD TO RECEIVE THEIR PASS!!!!!!!!!!! The age used to be 15, but they recently changed it. Also, the child must be with an adult AT ALL TIMES!!!!! The age I believe for this in under 15, but I will have to double check on that. It puts a damper on me that's for sure. My friend is bringing her younger sibling this year and we are stuck with her. So if you plan on ditching your mature like sibling who is 13, you can't.

Your ticket, which is also your pass (they give you a lanyard thing to hold you name, nickname, and how many days you are going) must be worn on ALL TIMES!!!!!!!! They ask you for it at all panels, entrance to the exhibit hall/artist alley, and at the entrance to special events. Without it, you will not be allowed to go into anything. Also, at certain panels that are, lets say, 13 and older, they WILL ask you for your ID.

Now about the ID issue. So it's like this. In order to receive your pass, you must show your ID. Now this can be a California (or any state, really) issued ID, Student ID(from your school, recent by the way), Drivers license, so on. This cannot be a hand-made ID you created. I recommend you carry this with you everywhere, but in a safe spot. If ever asked for it by one of the people working at AX (they will have a pass that says they work for AX, or they will be working at the entrance to a 13 and older panel, where they need to ask for it), show it to them, but don't show it to random stalkers.

Wow, now that I look back, this is A LOT of information. Well absorb it in. Breathe in, Breathe out. Good audience.

ONE LAST THING I FORGOT TO MENTION! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY YOUR TICKET ONLINE! So let's say that you do not have a credit card or neither do your lovely friends or parents. You can buy your ticket at the con. You won't be able to go to day 0 (I will talk about this lovely horrible day later) and the price will be higher, but its the same thing as buying it online. Just put in your information, print it out at the con, show your ID and your done.

Hello, Greetings, and Poptarts

Hello and thank you for taking the time out of your busy life to read this blog. My name is GelDDragon, or better yet my pen name, but you can call me GDD for short, in order not to get confused with G-Dragon from the Korean boy group Big Bang. Real quick, to address this, I did not know about Big Bang when I created my pen name, many years ago.

So to get back on topic, this blog is to give types and advice to anyone who wants tips and advice to prepare them for the Los Angeles Anime Expo 2012. Warning: This is the only anime related convention I have attend so far, so if you wish to use these tips for any other or future conventions, then please proceed with caution because I have no idea if any of these tips will help you.

Continuing on, this first post is just give you some simple tips that, as time goes by, I will continue to update. Hopefully during the actual convention I can post up some stuff that went on, new tips, and anything really worth mentioning. TERM OF THE DAY(always wanted to do this)= AX

AX is a shorten term for Anime Expo, so whenever I reference or mention Anime Expo, I will be saying AX. It's how people often refer to Anime Expo and it's faster to type.
